Theatresports are coming to town!

VICTORIA - The Impromaniacs, Victoria's original improv troupe, are bringing Theatresports to Victoria's shores. In this popular, competitive improv format, two teams of trained improvisers will meet in a head to head matchup where only one team will impress the judges enough to be named the victor.

Theatresports was created by Keith Johnstone and the format has taken off in cities like Vancouver, Seattle, Edmonton and Calgary. The teams will challenge each other to create scenes on the spot with inpspiration from the audience.

"It's about time Victoria got a taste of traditional Theatresports," says Shawn Norman, the Impromaniacs Theatresports director, "we're very excited to put on the show and hope to see the program really take off here."

They have planned three evenings of Theatresports so far and we will definitely be seeing more of it in the new year.
